WHAT IS CINEMATIC PHOTOGRAPHY?
There isn't anyone you couldn't love once you've heard their story.
~Mary Lou Kownacki

At its core, cinematic photography is storytelling photography. Cinematic images aren't just pretty pictures — they tell a story, they evoke emotion, and, in doing so, they feel like memories. Like the time the two of you spent the afternoon browsing a local bookshop. Within minutes, you found yourselves wrapped up in the stories decorating its cluttered shelves. Or when you escaped to a secluded beach. You ran into the light of the setting sun and left with sandy toes, matted hair, and the salty smell of the sea still lingering, reminding you both of that special evening. Or maybe it was when you drove your old pickup truck to the middle of an open field and spent the evening dancing under the setting sun, through the golden haze and into the soft embrace of moonlight.

As a cinematic photographer, I regularly borrow techniques from filmmaking to plan, direct, and share your story. What you need to know is that these are not your traditional photos — they're cinematic, they're nostalgic, and, most importantly, they're so... you. No stiff and awkward poses allowed. I want to create a space where you can just be yourselves. Because, truly, you are so much more interesting than a forced smile.

Whether we're together for a couples session, an elopement, or a wedding, I will be your director, guiding you when you need it (especially if something feels awkward or unflattering — I've got you!) and creating space for your genuine love and connection. Expext movement, gentle prompts, and lots of space to breathe. I want you to feel safe enough to love one another out loud, but I will always allow space for the quieter, more intimate moments between the two of you as well. My goal is to make you forget about the camera. Please know, this space is all about you, so come as you are. It's a safe, open environment where we can explore what makes your relationship uniquely yours. Welcome to your greatest love story.

Em
